About CHOC Specialists & Pediatric Gastroenterology
CHOC Specialists physicians are committed to delivering compassionate, family-centered, and evidence-based care. As a division of RCH–Orange (CHOC), CHOC Specialists continues to set the standard for pediatric subspecialty excellence.
Within CHOC Specialists, the Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty (PSF)—a private pediatric subspecialty group—serves as the employer for this position. PSF includes more than 500 physicians and advanced practice providers across 26 pediatric subspecialties. Providers practice at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, a nationally recognized leader in pediatric care with two state-of-the-art hospitals in Orange and Mission Viejo, and a premier teaching site affiliated with the University of California, Irvine (UCI).
The Pediatric Gastroenterology Division at CHOC is a thriving and collegial team of 14 physicians and 7 advanced practice providers, delivering comprehensive GI care across a broad spectrum of subspecialties. About the Opportunity: Pediatric Hepatology & Pancreatic Disease
CHOC Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Pediatric Gastroenterologist with expertise or a strong clinical interest in pediatric liver and pancreatic disorders to join its growing GI division. This role offers the opportunity to care for medically complex children within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary model.
Position Highlights Include:
- Care for children with acute and chronic liver disease, including chronic hepatitis and metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease (MASH)
- Active participation in the multidisciplinary management of (both pre and post) liver transplant patients and children with chronic pancreatic disorders
- Engagement in multidisciplinary hepatology and pancreatology clinics focused on complex care
- Leadership and program directorship opportunities for qualified candidates
- Participation in academic teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives, including involvement with the UCI-affiliated pediatric residency program

Qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology
- Eligible for California medical licensure
- Demonstrated commitment to team-based care, clinical excellence, and lifelong learning
Preferred Background:
- Completion of a fourth-year fellowship in pediatric hepatology or liver transplant, or
- Significant clinical experience and a strong interest in pediatric liver and pancreatic disease
